It features a wonderfully large cover that highlights the sneaker culture of the early 1990s and displays all the villains and scenarios of the game itself. The game was later republished by Limited Run Games in 2021 for the Game Boy using a brand new photo of this artwork. 17. Description: This is an awesome piece of NES-era artwork for Tetris 2. For reasons unknown, Nintendo used a different (and far inferior) piece of artwork for the published box cover. I made the box mockup myself in photoshop to display how it would have looked had it been published. The painting also has a preliminary drawing with the logo on vellum. 18. Description: Julie Bell's paintings for the Super NES console are some of the most beloved and wonderful works in the library. Arcus Odyssey was destined to be released for the SNES by Renovation Products, but was cancelled after the company was bought out by Sega, so this box art went unused; however, the art was indeed published and can be found in Electronic Gaming Monthly no. 51, p. 175 and in the official Super NES Game Guide of 1993.“The illustration I did for Arcus Odyssey is one of my favorite video game covers that I painted. At the time it was assigned to me, I had done several other video game covers and the art director had become comfortable with my style of painting and trusted me to create the image however I wanted. This was high praise to me and I really felt honored to have earned his trust.” Year: 1992 Medium: Oil on board Image Area: Width x Height IN/CM Image Source: Original Condition: Excellent

  24. Description: This awesome piece is by renowned illustrator and prominent Star Wars conceptual designer, Iain McCaig, who created all the conceptual art for the game, directed the live-action portions, and painted this cover, which was digitally manipulated by the marketing company. Here’s what Iain himself wrote about it:“I was aiming at something classy—‘Killing Time’ was originally called ‘Zombie Xanadu’, and was intended to be an Agatha Christie zombie/ghost story. Alas, 3DO decided to market the game to a younger audience, and digitally tweaked my original artwork so it was more bloody and garish.” Year: 1995 Medium: Acrylic on board Image Area: Width x Height IN/CM Image Source: Original Condition:
  25. Description: This artwork is from the cover of a comic book featuring the canon origin story of Calypso, the villain of Twisted Metal 1 and 2. Infamously, the comic also features the destruction of the World Trade Center five years before it actually happened! This book is probably known more to comic collectors for its rarity. Only 100 copies were initially printed and handful was given away as prizes for a magazine contest. Very few of these have survived and as of today, only 5 copies are graded by CGC with 9.6 being the highest grade.
