  5. Aeon Flux CD-Rom Commercial Breen Soldiers, Scaphandra, Custodians, and Aeon Flux Production Cel Signed by Peter Chung with Key Master Background Cel (MTV Animation, 1996). The secret agent Aeon Flux is placed in the spotlight in this extraordinary hand-painted production cel, featuring our titular character surrounded by Breen forces, Custodians, and followed by the double agent Scaphandra. Seen at the 0:06 mark of the high-octane animated commercial, this spectacular four-layer production cel masterfully captures our attention from the characters framing the shot towards the center of the piece, where Aeon Flux stands holding her gun highlighted by her shadow on the spotlight with bright red and blue illumination around her, with the marvelous Key Master Background featured as a layer of the cel. This image greatly exemplifies one of the magnificent parts of the animated ad, directed and storyboarded by Peter Chung, with production by studio Madhouse and key animation by Takeshi Koike and Yoshinori Kanemori. Featuring a staggering image size of 13" × 10.25", this image features everything to mesmerize on Flux fans, from the amazing composition, the striking shading, and the characters on the scene, all with a bewildering amount of detail. The cel is signed by Peter Chung on the bottom right area. Overall, the lot presents light handling and edge wear from production, with the linework showing light fading, its layers are slightly adhered together and taped by the top edge.   10. Description: Cover art from the Mondo Vinyl Soundtrack of Contra III: The Alien Wars by Paul Mann. From Heritage Auctions: Paul Mann Contra III: The Alien Wars Super Nintendo Vinyl Soundtrack Original Cover Art (Mondo, 2017). Mondo celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Contra franchise in style with their premiere vinyl release of the original soundtrack to the 1992 Super Nintendo classic, Contra III: The Alien Wars. This spectacular painting is the original art for that vinyl cover, and it was also used for the cover of Retro Gamer magazine Issue #176. The action in the game is set three years after the original Contra, with heroes Bill and Lance ready for battle against Red Falcon and his legion. This image illustrates the scenario extremely well with bright colors and dynamic poses for the characters. It was produced in acrylics on Crescent art board on an image area of 18.5" × 18.5", and it's in excellent condition.   12. Yeah! I love the painting, but it just seemed like an amazing gift to someone who has bought aviation prints his whole life, but never an original. I hope he enjoys it as much as I have in the short time owning it.

  14. Description: Described by Heritage Auctions as "James Dietz Red Baron II Computer Game Original Alternate Cover Art (Sierra On-Line, 1997)." This action-packed painting featuring World War I aircraft is from an unused design for the 1997 Sierra On-Line computer game, Red Baron II. It was created by noted military artist James Dietz. He made two pieces for the game: one for the cover, and this one for other purposes. The standard cover art has more typical blue skies, but the yellow/orange on this alternate piece really stands out. It was produced in oil on canvas, unmounted, and has an image area of 28" × 21". The edges of the canvas have wear, but the art is in excellent condition overall.   16. Description: Aeon flux with gun pointed! Seen at the 11second mark of the 22 second commercial for an unreleased game by Cryo Studios. I remember playing an early demo of this game at E3 decades ago. Based on the hit MTV series, this commercial was handled by AAA studio Madhouse with animation by Takeshi Koike and Yoshinori Kanemori. From the Peter Ching Archives.   17. I can only surmise that Tom started with something that was most interesting for him to draw. I’m guessing he just got done doing Contra for Anniversary Collection and Bayou Billy was fun with the swamp, gator, and using himself as Bayou Billy. 🤣 Definitely interested in seeing some new stuff from him!

Painting was sold with an embellished NES cartridge by artist Tom duBois. The creation of this piece from start to finish, can be seen on the “TDArt” channel on YouTube.   25. The Art you posted above is the side art for the arcade machine that was later used on the front of the various Gameboy releases. What I have is the original arcade marquee art that was later used on the back of the Gameboy box art.
