Gary Winnick is an American computer game designer, writer, artist, and animator known for his work for Lucasfilm Games. An early employee for Lucasfilm Games, Gary was involved in nearly every Lucasfilm Games title released between 1985 and 1993. Notably, he co-created, designed, and developed Lucasfilm's first graphic adventure, Maniac Mansion (1987) and was additionally the designer, artist, and animator of Defenders of Dynatron City for the NES (1992), also co-writing the comic based on the game, with Steve Purcell.
Prior to his time with LucasArts, Gary Winnick founded Horizon Zero Graphiques with Frank Cirocco in 1974. More than 20 years later in 1996, Gary returned as a partner at Horizon Zero Graphiques, which was rebranded Lightsource Studios.
