Terry Wolfinger, a California native, is an American illustrator that created cover art for GameFan magazine; between 1992 and 1998, Terry illustrated over 60 covers for the magazine and also art directed content within. Terry is additionally responsible for a handful of video game box art, which OVGA has documented below.
Terry is now known primarily for his hyper-realistic horror art and vivid depictions of pop-culture icons. He is a frequent cover artist for Famous Monsters magazine and exhibits his new classic monster portrait paintings at Monsterpalooza and Halloweentown in Burbank, and has had exhibitions in Pasadena, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Chicago. Terry's blog showcases numerous examples of his monster art, including for MAD magazine. The website It Came From... interviewed Terry in 2018, during which Terry discusses his monster art, his career, and his inspirations.
Terry also illustrated the artwork for Creature Feature, a 2022 board game designed by Richard Garfield, the renowned creator of the immensely popular card game Magic: The Gathering.

Terry was an early adopter of Photoshop and most, if not all, of his video game box art were executed digitally. He attributes his ahead-of-the-curve proficiency with the digital painting program with helping him land a gig at Stan Winston Studios where he worked as a character concept artist, including for projects like The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Terminator 3.
