Description: Paul Kidby created this art for a feature article in the December 1993 issue of Edge magazine titled "Game Over." The article argued that game genres had led to stagnation in game design, but Paul's captivating painting more or less depicted the popular games of 1993. More than 30 years later, many of these characters remain instantly recognizable!
Characters/games depicted: Goro from Mortal Kombat, Chun Li and Ken from Street Fighter, Indiana Jones, Luke Skywalker from Star Wars, and the T-Rex from Jurassic Park. Despite the difference in outfit, the female warrior at bottom right may be a nod to Tyris Flare from the Golden Axe series. Golden Axe III was previewed in some magazines in 1993. The ship at top left is from Star Fox and the helicopter likely represents the "Strike" series.
