  • Koichi Miyajima is a Japanese Illustrator and 3D designer. After graduating from the Tokyo Design Academy, he went on a six-month trip with famed music album cover artist and, at the time, mentor Shusei Nagaoka to L.A, USA. Having been inspired by the works of SYD MEAD and Frank Frazetta, he could not pass on such an opportunity. Immediately after his trip in 1980, Koichi Miyajima took began his career as a freelance illustrator.
    During the 80s, he illustrated many Gundam Toy Packages and other works under Bandai. In the early 90s, he worked for the Institute of Space and Astronautical Science, working on the Mars mobile chemical probe design and production. He was recognised for his Full-scale production of robot objects and received The Technique Award at the 10th Hands Awards 1993 and 1995: The Mind Award at the 12th Hands Awards.
    Meanwhile he was still working as a freelance illustrator and began illustrating at Capcom and Sega. He Airbrushed the Street Fighter II Turbo 1994 Calendar and the Street Fighter II The New Challengers Title Art.
